NOTOC – a new feature in Qstep air cargo handling software platform

Posted by: Paanukoski Egor
Category: News, Released new features

Qstep added a new feature to its software platform for cargo ground handlers. Notification to Captain (NOTOC) is an essential document to provide correct information to the airline captain about special cargo to be loaded on board the flight, be it dangerous goods (DGR) or live animals (AVI) to ensure flight safety and proper handling.

Compiled from different data sources, the printed document is provided to the airline pilot before the goods are loaded on the aircraft cargo hold. The new feature is first piloted at cargo handler Ospentos International at Tallinn airport before it is rolled out to other Qstep clients across the EU. “Qstep software makes NOTOC preparation, sharing, and archiving much more efficient and convenient for the terminal operations staff not least because now a compilation of NOTOC electronically minimizes also the risk of typing errors”, says Valter Veedler, the CEO of Ospentos.
Qstep is also prepared to develop an electronic version of NOTOC as well as receive and process electronic Dangerous Goods Declaration (FDD) once airlines are ready to receive and process them in their IT systems.
